Las Vegas Art District

Las Vegas Art District

Earlier this month, I ventured out to the Art District here in Las Vegas with my friend, Micaela. We went with the intention of snapping those sort of artsy photos that you see on Instagram and Tumblr. While I hate being photographed, she had the honour of being my model for the day. So we set off to capture very hipster-looking photos. I must say, I think we quite succeeded there. This is my first actual “photo shoot”. Expect many more shoots featuring Micaela, as she is always down to be my model for the day.

We wandered around aimlessly for about 3 hours before getting too hungry to carry on. There is a lot of interesting art downtown. One thing I really love about the Art District is that it’s always changing. We could go back in about a month or so, and we would most probably find a bunch of new art painted all over. Of course, there’s some that stay the same because they advertise a shop or something, but the street art is constantly changing. I love that so much. Which probably just means that we’ll be headed down there often and I can make more posts like this, or simply update this one with heaps of photos. An unorganised mess of street art photography. Because why not?

If you live or are visiting the Las Vegas area, I highly suggest going out to the Art District if you get a chance. It isn’t far off from the strip and it is even closer to Fremont. It’s full of good food and awesome bars and some pretty interesting art to look at. There are loads of random, cute shops down there as well. It’s a nice way to spend the day whilst trying to avoid the normal hustle and bustle of Las Vegas Boulevard.
